Paediatric dentistry

Dental care already begins with the youngest ones
Primary teeth have an important task. They hold the position for the permanent teeth. Thumb sucking or prolonged use of pacifiers can also lead to permanent malocclusions, just like the early loss of the primary teeth. Caries in primary teeth also represents a high risk of infection for the following permanent teeth. Therefore, dental hygiene should begin as early as with the first tooth. A healthy diet and brushing are just as important as regular visits to the dentist. With an early start of dental checkups opening the mouth becomes natural for the child.

Children love to romp which often results in falls, during which teeth can be chipped or fall out in the worst case. In such cases, the dentist should always be visited immediately. If your child takes part in contact sports such as hockey or football, it is advisable for your child to wear a customised gum shield to prevent injuries, once the permanent anterior teeth break through.

A visit to the paediatric dental practice should be fun as well. It is possible to pave the way to healthy and radiant teeth for the young patients, playfully and age-appropriately.
In difficult cases we have the option to perform the treatment under general anaesthesia, administered by experienced paediatric anaesthesiologists.
