Oral Surgery

Oral surgery comprises a broad spectrum of surgical procedures. These surgeries can improve your bite and aesthetics. The decision as to whether  oral surgery is necessary for you primarily lies with your attending dentist or orthodontist. The fundamental oral surgeries include tooth extraction, extraction of wisdom teeth, apicoectomy of root-filled teeth, implantology, bone augmentation procedures for substantial bone loss in the jaw area, surgical periodontics and maxillary sinus surgery. Stomatology (diseases/oral lesions) is  another field of oral surgery as well as traumatology, which covers specifically dental and jaw injuries resulting from accidents.

Implantology
A lost tooth is not only missing visually, it also leaves a gap in the jaw that can destabilise the complete dentition system. Implantology counteracts this by filling the gap in the jaw with an implant and thus preserves the functionality of the bone substance. Implants, usually made of titanium, are introduced, meaning implanted into the bone. Then a dental crown is mounted on this pillar. Implants are a durable, comfortable and robust solution.

Stomatology
Different factors such as smoking, alcohol, eating habits, viruses, etc. can lead to diseases of the oral mucosa. To prevent severe symptoms of the disease, these changes of the oral mucosa should be promptly examined and treated.
